From June 18-22, 2023, Petrovietnam University (PVU) welcomed five master's students from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand for an internship under the guidance of Professor Pham Huy Giao.
It is known that these students are enrolled in the Geosystem Exploration and Petroleum Geoengineering program at AIT, and they are all working for the Myanmar Petroleum Resources LTD. (MPRL).
At the PVU campus in Ba Ria city, the AIT students were able to interact with the faculty and students of the petroleum department, visiting labs and classrooms. Moreover, a seminar was held on the "Impact of Digital Transformation and Energy Shift on the Oil Industry and Relevant Training Programs". This seminar was delivered by Professor Pham Huy Giao, emphasizing the necessity of developing renewable energy sources such as wind power, CO2 storage, and the need for exploratory and exploitation training programs instead of solely focusing on petroleum engineering.
