OPEN LETTER
Assoc. Prof., Dr. Le Phuoc Hao
Rector
On 25th Nov 2010, the Prime Minister issued a Decision on establishing PVU as a special public university invested by PetroVietnam (PVN) with no financial support from the state budget while PVU's training programs are complied with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).
Our mission is to produce high quality labour resourses, to combine training with scientific research and production and business activities, thereby ensuring the rapid and sustainable development of PVN and the country. Our target is to become a prestigious and top ranking university in Vietnam, a cradle where breeding and developing talent and training intellectual citizens with political bravery, sense of morality and good health for serving the country's industrialization and mordenization process.
With advanced training programs, main languages used for instruction are Vietnamese and English, teaching staffs that all trained at prestigious universities in the world and a modern infrastructure system that is synchronously invested, we believe that our vision to become one of the leading universities will soon be recognized, thereby contributing to the course of developing a high quality education system in Vietnam.
PVU is established as a result of the education socialization policy of the Vietnamese government which is clearly reflected in the co-operation between PVN and the MOET in setting up and conducting PVU's activities and the partnership agreements between PVU and some other units of PVN, local and oversea enterprises and organizations. The path to achieve our targets is so challenging that we would appreciate the close conduction of PVN along with the MOET and relevant agencies, as well á the effective support from other units of PVN and especially the active contribution of the lecturers, students and local and foreign partners to the development of PVU.
PVU believes that our achievements belong to all the staff and faculties of PVN who are named as "Vietnam's Fire finding soldiers". With all the above factors, PVU is confident to be able to overcome all the challenges to gain the targets in education, scientific research and supplying high quality human resourses, thereby contributing to the success of PVN in realizing the rapid development strategy as well as the development of the country.
