On July 21st, in Da Nang City, Petrovietnam University (PVU) and Duy Tan University (DTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on collaboration in training and scientific research.
This partnership aims to boost the development strategy and enhance the stature of both institutions, contributing to higher education and the development of high-quality human resources, thereby aiding in the country's socio-economic growth.
Attending the signing ceremony from PVU were Dr. Phan Minh Quoc Binh - President of the University, Dr. Le Quoc Phong - Head of the Training Department, Mr. Nguyen Thai Dat - Head of the Organizational Administration Department, Mr. Chau Khieu Minh - Director of the Advanced Training Center, Dr. Truong Thanh Tuan - Deputy Head of Foreign Affairs and Science & Technology, and Dr. Duong Chi Trung - Head of the Petroleum Refining Department. DTU was represented by Dr. Le Nguyen Bao - President of the University, Dr. Tran Nhat Tan - Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Dac Binh - Dean of the School of Technology, Dr. Truong Tien Vu - Head of Science and Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hieu - Head of the High-Tech Research and Development Institute, Dr. Nguyen Duc Hien - Head of the Business Cooperation Department, along with leaders of various departments, faculties, staff, and lecturers.
Dr. Phan Minh Quoc Binh expressed his pleasure and excitement about the collaboration with DTU and emphasized the importance of this cooperation for the development of both PVU and DTU. He extended a deep gratitude to DTU's leadership for their support and eagerness to foster this collaboration. Dr. Binh hoped that the detailed terms of the MOU signed at the ceremony would soon be implemented, particularly enhancing scientific research cooperation.
Dr. Binh also introduced PVU, located in Ba Ria City, the heart of Vietnam's oil industry, and its continuous modernization and digital transformation to align with the energy transition trends in training sectors. In December 2021, PVU successfully conducted an ABET accreditation for three programs: Geological Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Chemical Engineering, receiving high evaluations for all three programs. PVU is committed to training high-quality human resources, linking education with scientific research and business production, and ensuring the sustainable development of Vietnam's oil industry and national energy sector.
Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, President of DTU, thanked Dr. Phan Minh Quoc Binh and PVU's delegation for their visit and work at DTU. He expressed his happiness about the officially signed MOU, opening many opportunities for cooperation and development between the two universities. He also highly regarded PVU's training model after viewing an introductory video about PVU and the discussions with PVU's delegation.
PVU and DTU leadership formally signed a 5-year cooperation MOU, covering the period 2022-2027. The MOU specifies collaboration in training, scientific research, education quality assurance and accreditation, innovative entrepreneurship, and technology transfer.
The agreement between PVU and DTU will also contribute to diversifying PVU's disciplines in the future. The signing ceremony concluded successfully, paving the way for the development of both PVU and DTU, and opening up new opportunities for cooperation between the two institutions.
