ADMISSION METHODS
PetroVietnam University (Admission Code: PVU) recruites student for undergraduate and international joining programs.
Undergraduate Programs (Geological Engineering-GE, Petroleum Engineering-PE and Chemical Engineering-CE): 100 students (Choosing major on the end of the first academic year with student expectation).
International joining programs (between PVU and NMT-New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology) (PVU-NMT program): 45 students (Earth Science/Petroleum Geology, Petroleum Engineering-PE and Chemical Engineering-CE).
A.Recruiting Methods
1.Based on the national high school exam 2022: 80 students (PVU undergraduate programs) and 30 students (International joining program PVU-NMT). Registration bases on directory of MOET.

2. Directly recruitment
- PVU undergraduate programs: 05 students basing on MOET admission regulation
- PVU-NMT program: Directly recruiting students from other universities of technology and engineering and PVU undergraduate programs who want to become PVU-NMT students
3. Recruitment basing on results of potential tests of HCM national university, Hanoi national university and Hanoi university of science and technology
- PVU undergraduate programs: 20 students (for 03 programs GE, PE and CE, and sub-sectors first year and student aspirations)
- PVU-NMT program: 05 students/program (common to all admission methoeds based on high school academic results).
4. Recruitment basing on grade results of high school academic years (only for PVU-NMT program): 05 students/program-common to all admission methods based on the results of capacity assessment
+ High school pupils who meet the one of 02 requirements as below:
- Students graduate from high school with a minimum grade point average of 6.5 (on the scalescore 10) (considering the combination of Math, Physics, Chemistry and English).
- All applicants for the joint program (2 + 3) must be examined by PVU English proficiency before entering the preparatory English semester and before entering Study the main program at PVU. Students before entering the program main course (61 credits for Petroleum Engineering program, 63 credits for program in Chemical Engineering and 56 credits in the Left Sciences program soil/Petroleum Geology major, at PVU) must reach level 4 English proficiency according to the 6-level foreign language competency framework or equivalent.
- PVU-NMT fresh students will be tested english before pre-english semester and before the first semester. PVU-NMT students have had 4-level english (national 6-level english frame) before the first semester of PVU-NMT program.
+ Requirement for continuing study at NMT (transfer to NMT): PVU-NMT students have cumulative GPA of the first period (study at PVU): 2.5/4, IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 76 or more.

+ Prerequisite: Graduation on high school
+ Admission criteria for each admission method can be adjusted accordingly actual enrollment situation.
B. Detail requirements and procedure:
1. Recruiting based on the results of the national high school exam 2022
+ Subjects: All candidates with 2022 high school graduation exam results
+ How to register: Candidates register to take the 2022 high school graduation exam and post Sign up for admission to majors in the regular university system and the American affiliated system Vietnam Petroleum University. Register according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Department of Education and Training and high schools for students in grade 12 and past candidates graduated from high school last year. (according to the Registration Instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training).
+ Admission score: is the total score of 3 exams/subjects of the combination of subjects considered for admission High school graduation exam results 2022, without multiplication coefficient, plus priority pointsobject, area (if any). Admission scores must meet the minimum score according to regulations regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
+ In case of majors with English subjects in the combination of admission subjects: History only Use English test results and score conversion table from the English Certificate IELTS and TOEFL ibt of the school.
+ In case the industry has many combinations of subjects for admission: The standard admission score is the same for all admission subject combinations. Therefore, when adjusting aspirations,
Candidates need to choose the subject combination for which they achieve the highest total score.

Candidates who took the 2022 high school exam have a total score of three subjects by combination

2. Direct admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:
+ Subjects: Candidates who are eligible for direct admission according to admission regulations
of the Ministry of Education and Training and according to the direct admission announcement of the PetroVietnam University.
+ How to register: Candidates who register for admission directly to the regular system submit their application about Vietnam University of Science and Technology. (according to the registration instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training and send to address only at the bottom of the page).
+ Admission method: The Admissions Council reviews direct admission applications and decides determined.
+ Time: According to the admission plan of the Ministry of Education and Training
3.Recruitment basing on results of potential tests of HCM national university, Hanoi national university and Hanoi university of science and technology
+ Subjects: All pupils who have the results of potential tests of HCM national university, Hanoi national university and Hanoi university of science and technology
+ How to register: Candidates register for admission according to the following steps:
- B1: Confirm online admission registration at website address: www.pvu.edu.vn or call to confirm admission registration to phone number 0983197934 (see Ms. Pham Thi Hoai Lan - Training Department).
- B2: Submit the application for registration in one of the two forms below
- Submit directly to the school.
- Submit by post by express delivery to the receiving address profile listed below.
3.2 Admission application documents:
- Certificate of competency exam results of VNUCM, VNU or Hanoi University of Science and Technology (certified copy);
- Temporary high school graduation certificate (after receiving high school exam results);
- Copy (not notarized) of IELTS, TOEFLibt certificate (if any);
- A stamped envelope clearly stating the candidate's contact address and phone number The school announces the admission results.

4. Recruitment basing on grade results of high school academic years and directly recruitment from other universities for PVU-NMT program
+ University students who wish to study the associate degree program and general education students
Information that satisfies the conditions for high school academic results as announced above can be posted Sign up for admission to PVU's International affiliate system by following these steps:
B1: Confirm online admission registration at website address: www.pvu.edu.vn or call to confirm admission registration to phone number 0983197934 (see Ms. Pham Thi Hoai Lan - Academic Affairs Deparment).
B2: Submit the application for registration in one of the two forms below
- Submit directly to the school.
- Submit by post by express delivery to the receiving address profile listed below

including:
- Notarized copy of school transcript or certificate of high school results up to date submit;
- Temporary high school graduation certificate (after receiving high school exam results);

C.Tuition fee
+ PVU undergraduate programs: Tuition is calculated by credit. Average tuition per Months of study in the regular mass program are implemented according to the Study Regulations Government fees (decree 81/2021/ND-CP dated August 27, 2021).
+ PVU-NMT programs:
- Chemical Engineering program: 79.000.000,00 VND/Student/Academic year (on duration of stuying at PVU) (preparatory English tuition included). 10.239 USD/Student/ Academic year (on duration of stuying at NMT).
- Earth Science/Petroleum Geology program: 72.000.000,00 VND/Student/Academic year (on duration of stuying at PVU) (preparatory English tuition included). 10.278 USD/Student/ Academic year (on duration of stuying at NMT).
- Petroleum Engineering program: 77.000.000,00 VND/Student/Academic year (on duration of stuying at PVU) (preparatory English tuition included). 9.660 USD/Student/ Academic year (on duration of stuying at NMT).
Note: when the school is allowed to be autonomous, tuition will be regulated according to the autonomy project approved

How to submit English certificate to convert points
Candidates submit a (not notarized) copy of the certificate (immediately after registrationadmission to PVU) to the school's Training Department at the address as shown in the recruitment proposal student, on the copy write the 2022 High School Exam Honor Roll Number (if any) and ID card number, CCCD number(or ID card number temporarily issued when taking the 2022 high school exam) or Passport number. The informationis used to determine the correct candidates applying to the school.
- Address to receive copies (no notarization required) sent by candidates: Ms. Pham Thi Hoai Lan, Academic Affairs Department, PetroVietnam University, 762 Cach Mang Thang Tam, Long Toan Ward, City. Ba Ria, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.
Candidates using multiple admission methods to the school at the same time, only need to submit only once.
